Overview
Somnifract is a mobile companion for users of CPAP (positive airway pressure) devices. The app reduces abandonment by improving comfort and engagement through relaxation media, an AI assistant for frequent questions, peer support, and educational content (podcasts, mini‑games).
Role & Activities
During my internship I contributed across the product lifecycle: requirements & user needs, mobile implementation, connected user profile and database, and collaboration with a designer to craft a calming, accessible UI. I also supported product pitches and communication efforts.
Key Features
AI assistant
Contextual assistant for FAQs, setup tips and guided responses to reduce onboarding friction.
Dynamic dashboard
Personal dashboard showing adherence, recent activity, and tailored suggestions.
Community Forum
Secure peer space for sharing tips, asking questions and mutual support.
Library (sounds & videos)
Curated media library plus a personalization tool to create custom sound/video compositions.
User profile (DB)
Profiles synced to a database for preferences, progress and cross‑device continuity.
Safe authentication & onboarding
Secure sign‑in flows and a guided onboarding sequence to help new users adopt the device.
Implementation
Built the mobile app with React Native. Implemented authentication, a user dashboard connected to a backend database, profile syncing, and media playback. Worked closely with a designer to iterate on an accessible, calming interface consistent with healthcare UX guidelines.
Impact & Learnings
The app was deployed and made available for beta testing. This internship was my first hands‑on mobile development experience and I learned a lot about React Native, secure authentication, profile syncing and collaborating with designers and stakeholders.
